Athletics!

3rd of November 2020, Year 3-6 Athletics Day.

We had just set off to Lovelock Track and the place that we were going to be doing Athletics.

I was really excited but also reluctant to go to the big event. I wanted to get into Eden/Albert for one of the sprints. But later I would realise that the closest I got was the 200 meters. The teachers had a few rules to say before we went to our first activity.

Our first activity was discus. The teachers that were organising the discus had a few things to say before we started. At first I didn't do very well. But the second try I did a bit better than before. The people who got into Eden/Albert were Isaac, Remy and Levi.

The next thing we did was long jump, I did pretty well and got 4th but not in Eden/Albert. After we did shot put, which again I did not do well in, it seems that heavy stuff is not my thing. After that we did a high jump that I jumped 1 meter (That was my favorite!)

After that that was the biggest activity that took up half the time. In 100m I came third which didn't get me up to semi finals. For 200m I came third again but this time it did take me up to the semi finals! But then what happened was I was competing against some of the fastest people in the school so that didn’t work. I really enjoyed 200m and high jump. Athletics was fun, I really enjoyed it.
